Description

The Alternating Square Chess Set pairs a wood-toned and ivory chequered board with chess pieces shaped as simple cylinders. Varied heights, angled tops and rounded heads give the familiar game a sculptural character, while the coordinated palette makes the board and pieces pleasing to leave on display.
Why You'll Love It
  • Wood tones and ivory offer a soft contrast that suits a neutral interior.
  • Coordinating pieces give the board a cohesive appearance when arranged for display.
  • The chequered surface lets natural grain contribute to the pattern.
Materials & Finish

Made in India, the board uses beech wood and resin. Natural wood grain sits alongside smooth resin in an ivory finish, giving the chequered pattern a balance of warmth and crisp definition.

Why We Love It

The restrained piece shapes are the deciding detail: small changes in height and head shape give simple cylinders an unexpectedly expressive character.
